our 3 pillars: sea
We go above and beyond when it comes to our 3 pillars of Safety, Enrichment, and Adventure. We believe in transparency when it comes to the supplies and equipment we provide, the destinations we will take your paw-rents, and the kind of training we offer, so you know that your paw-friends are being loved and cared for every second they spend with us!

SAFETY
committed to your furry friend’s safety
We understand that it takes enormous amounts of trust for you to lodge your paw-friends with us, and we want to make sure that you are comfortable and know that they are in good hands.
safety during transportation
pupbus equipment
All equipment used on PUPBUS for transportation is Center for Pet Safety approved and crash tested.
Every pup will be buckled in wearing a Kurgo Tru-Fit™ Crash Tested Harness. We provide harnesses of all sizes and will make sure that they fit snugly on your pup to ensure that it is safe and comfortable.
To take it one step further, we have recently added a Gunner Kennel to our PUPBUS. The Gunner G1 is the only kennel to have earned a 5-Star in Crash Test Rating and is CPS certified. This option ensures ultimate safety in case of an accident and is available upon request, depending on the size of your pup and whether they are kennel-trained.
Please contact us at least 48 hours in advance to reserve your spot if you would like to use the Gunner Kennel. If it’s your pup’s first time, we want to make sure the kennel is the right size and that your pup is kennel-trained and not afraid of riding in it.
All seats on PUPBUS have a non-slip seat covering to ensure safety and to cultivate a cozy space for your pup to rest on, and the strapped-in dog seats and kennel have bed cushions to ensure they are safe and comfortable!
pupbus capacity
The PUPBUS can safely fit 6-8 pups depending on pup size. Every pup gets their own seat and is buckled in wearing their Kurgo Tru-Fit harness. We make sure that each pup has ample room to move around, and at no time will we “jam-pack” the van where pups are physically in contact with one another while seated with not enough room to turn their heads or stretch.
We cannot accommodate last minute requests if we are at capacity, this is to ensure safety for all pups in attendance.
dog gear
Harness
We provide no pull Ruffwear harnesses for all our services. Ruffwear harnesses have both front- and back-clip. Front-clip harnesses avoid most tracheal irritation and is difficult for dogs to back out. They are very secure and is a great management tool especially for dogs with leash reactivity and pulls when on-leash.
If the pup has a harness on when picked up, we will check if it has both front and back clip and whether it fits snugly. Harnesses with only one leash attachment ring on the back can be unsafe, since spooked dogs can pull out of them.
Some pups may be leash-trained and have no leash-reactivity, but we still recommend wearing a harness to minimize applying pressure around the neck and to avoid tracheal irritation, especially during walks when the pup may need to be redirected quickly.
Please note that we do not condone the use of aversive tools such as prong collars, choke collars, or shock collars. In the event that a pup is picked up wearing any of the above, we will switch their gear into our provided ones instead.
If you have any questions about this, please contact us.
leash
We use our handcrafted Pupworldwear Biothane and Rope leashes for all dog-walking services provided.
For group hikes, we use our Climbing Rope Leashes for unloading and reloading the Pupbus; for city walks, we use our Biothane Leashes and multi-leashes as needed. Our leashes are made with sustainable material of Biothane and athelete-approved trad climbing ropes, sturdy and designed for adventures.
gps tracker
After careful consideration and trails with both AirTag and Tractive GPS Tracker, we decided to use AirTag for higher accuracy, greater trackability, speedier notifications, and better reliability.
All pups in attendance will have an AirTag attached to their harness for the duration of the service, and it will be removed before drop-off. We will also provide water-proof cases for the AirTags in case your pup decides to go for a dip in the water, to ensure that it still functions properly in case of an emergency.
Please note that a GPS Tracker is only a precautionary measure and does not replace the need for a name tag. We highly recommend attaching a name tag on your pups’ harness or collar with your contact information and their License number.
pet and canine first aid certified
We are Pet First Aid certified with Walks ‘N’ Wags and Canine First Aid certified with DogSafe and are able to assist and respond in a timely manner in case of an emergency. Our staff can administer oral medication with instructions and know First Aid responses and CPR.
Thank you for trusting us with your pup. If you have any questions about our safety measures, feel free to reach out to us.

enrichment
ENRICHMENT IS VITAL IN PET CARE
Enrichment helps pups settle in and thrive, helps decrease stress, engages the pups’ brain, teaches problem-solving skills, and promotes and maintains an ideal state of physical and mental well-being.
Enrichment is much more than just physical exercise and taking the pups outdoors to explore new areas! There are many forms and strategies of enrichment we are committed to: scent enrichment, food-based enrichment, exploration-based enrichment, social enrichment, positive training, and physical exercise.
scent enrichment
We all know that our pups’ sense of smell is a lot more powerful than ours, but did you know that scents can be used to promote relaxation? Certain scents such as lavender and vanilla can help support a pup to be in a calm or happy emotional state!
Aboard the PUPBUS, we use small amounts of lavender and chamomile as a way of scent enrichment to help all pups feel safe and secure during transportation.
food-based enrichment
Food-based enrichment is perhaps one that most owners are familiar with. Food puzzles, chews, stuffed KONGs, and “Licki-mats” are all ways to help a pup self-soothe while engaging their brains.
During breaktimes, we provide food puzzles and Licki-mats for pups to relax and get the enrichment they need.
exploration-based enrichment
Exploration-based enrichment is one of the ways to help a pet investigate and explore a new environment. Oftentimes, pups are alert or curious when there has been a change in environment, and exploration-based enrichment such as playing the scatter net game and using a snuffle mat would be an essential part as we take your pups out to explore new areas and sceneries they have yet interacted with in the past.
social enrichment
improving your pup’s quality of life through socialization
The importance of proper socialization cannot be stressed enough. Socialization is key in helping your pup become stable and confident and in desensitizing them to normal sights and sounds. When done properly, it reduces the chance that they will become fearful in new environments and it plays an important role in helping them develop behavioural and social skills needed to thrive as they learn how to interact with different people, animals, and more!
Socialization doesn’t happen overnight, and is a slow process that requires patience and time. While the socialization period is the first 12 weeks of your pups’ life, the good thing is, it is never too late to start helping your pup with socialization.
At PUPWORLD, we believe in using positive reinforcement training to help pups of all ages with socialization by exposing them to novel stimuli in moderation and in a Fear Free way.
Please note that social enrichment involves interactions with animals and persons and may not be suitable for all pets.
positive training enrichment
r+ training
Positive reinforcement training is another fantastic form of enrichment that should not be overlooked and should be incorporated into a pup’s day-to-day life. Positive training has many benefits as it provides a mental outlet while enhancing your pups’ problem-solving and social skills. physical exercise enrichment
explore the outside world
At PUPWORLD, we are committed to cultivating a fun and adventurous experience for your pup to gain exposure and be introduced to new sceneries and destinations. We bring the pack to different destinations everyday, ranging from off-leash beaches and parks to hiking trails to allow them to explore and become comfortable in a variety of different environments while ensuring they get the physical exercise, mental stimulation, and enrichment they crave for.
Remember, physical exercise is essential and an excellent outlet for energy and a key form of enrichment every pup needs to thrive!
thank you for trusting us with your pup. if you have any questions about the different forms of enrichment, feel free to reach out to us.

adventure
embark on the pupworld adventure
not your average neighbourhood walk
Our services are so much more than a neighbourhood walk or a quick stop at the beach.
Vancouver is home to many scenic nature areas, from beaches, to parks and hiking trails, there is no reason we always bring the pups to the same destination! At PUPWORLD, we bring our pups to different destinations everyday, ranging from off-leash beaches and parks to hiking trails. If there is somewhere you would like us to bring your pup, name it and we’ll be there.
A full day at our Outdoor Daycare will take your pup to at least 2 different destinations, allowing them to explore new environments and get the mental enrichment and stimulation they crave for. In the summer, we offer seasonal hiking and camping trips as well, as a part of our commitment to creating opportunities for pups to fully explore everything the outside world has to offer.
