meet our founders

Hi! we are jacqueline and tom, founders of pupworld.

We are honoured you are considering us for taking care of your pup, and we promise that if you choose us, we will love your pup as our own. Here is a little about us that you might like to know before making a decision.

What initially started as a hobby of dog-boarding, dog-sitting, and dog-walking for our friends made us realize that we were truly passionate about caring for pups and enjoyed working with furry friends.

During Covid-19, we adopted our first dog, Creama, together. It wasn’t long before we observed Creama displaying Separation Anxiety, and we started working with a CSAT trainer on a desensitization protocol. This was when we first started to educate ourselves on animal behaviour, animal body language, and proper training methodologies.

In the course of Creama’s puppyhood, we worked with various trainers on capturing, shaping, and targeting behaviours to set Creama up for success. During the journey of learning and training our own pup, we became advocates for positive reinforcement training and animal welfare.

how it all started

In 2022, we decided to start working with rescue dogs. We helped with training and rehoming the dogs and always fought for them to find a perfect new home and suitable adopter. Through working with abandoned and rescue dogs, we once again realized how essential it is that dogs get the physical exercise and mental stimulation they need to live a happy and fulfilling life. And more importantly, how crucial it is to educate pet owners on what positive reinforcement training and proper desensitization looks like, and how they should continue to educate themselves with updated research on training, and always be mindful of the amount of nourishment, veterinary care, and physical exercise their pet(s) need.

This was a pivotal point for the two of us, where we decided to pursue continued education in becoming professional dog trainers. We made a commitment then to always have the dogs’ best interests in mind, and provide services of the highest quality, prioritizing the pups’ safety while enriching their body and mind.

working with rescue dogs

After years of hard work, we are proud to say that we have both completed our Dog Trainer Foundations with Karen Pryor, we are members of the Canadian Association of Professional Dog Trainers (CAPDT), Fear Free Professionals, and Pet First Aid Certified with Walk ‘N’ Wags. We are also certified Dog Walkers with Bravo Dog.

our credentials

Jacqueline is pursuing her PPDT (Professional Pet Dog Trainer) Certification with Good Dog Academy and it is her goal to one day become a CSAT trainer to help more owners that are undergoing challenges working with pups on Separation Anxiety. Tom is fighting hard to expand our service area to take your pups on more adventurous trips and he is planning exciting seasonal camping trips that will be available in the summer!

We are excited about what’s to come this year and are dedicated to continuing our own education so we can provide unparalleled services for you and your furry friends.
